Fuel Integrity Maintenance
Alberta’s only dedicated full time fuel cleaning service, operating for over 25 years.
Services
Fuel Tank Cleaning and Fuel Filtering
Clean dirt, debris and water from the tank bottom while filtering and polishing fuel to CSA/STANDATA/ISO specifications to maintain compliance with local fire codes. Our closed loop method allows most emergency backup systems and fuel dispensers to remain in service while we clean to avoid disruptions. Our equipment is mobile and quick to set up even on roof tops, confined spaces and temporary platforms.
Consultation and Project Management
With over 25 years we can find solutions and bring together services to get your project across the line.
Preventative Maintenance Management
Fuel Tech reviews yearly compliance reports and onsite observations to provide site specific recommendations reducing annual contamination. Reduced yearly contamination will improve reliability of engines and fuel tanks.
Fuel Sampling
ASTM tank bottom sampling lets you know what is going on with your fuel and is required yearly for all emergency generators and fire pumps in Alberta.
Fuel Filter Transfer
Need to move some fuel? Fuel Tech can transfer fuel of any volume to a new tank or pod while filtering it to save you from having to dispose of contaminated product.
Flexibility
Our equipment is mobile and configurable for any situation. We can easily integrate with existing plumbing and equipment as well as adding new pieces to get the job done. We can load our equipment on small boats, planes and helicopters to reach any site.
What’s in your tank?
Your generators, boilers, fire pumps and heavy equipment need to work every time. What keeps your lights on?
Water
The biggest threat to your fuel integrity is water. It rusts tanks, emulsifies with fuel and provides a medium for bacteria to grow. Our tank bottom cleaning and water dispersant treatment eliminates water and protects against future intrusion. We do not use biocides. We clean and treat to remove water preventing bacteria from growing in the first place. Biocides have their own drawbacks introducing risks unnecessary if you are cleaning and treating your tank bottom for water.
Natural Debris
Dust and organics intrude from venting creating wall scale and bottom sediment. These build ups degrade fuel quality and tank walls. Over time contaminants can reach suctions plugging filters and damaging injectors on your critical equipment.
Man Made Debris
We routinely find welding rods and slag from manufacturing in new tanks as well as black carbon the tank has inhaled from nearby exhaust sources. Next to water we have found carbon build up to be the most aggressive tank contaminant. Carbon can build up quickly and shed off of tank walls, entering suctions to compromise your equipment.
